Mont L. Millerberg was elected to the New School District Board of Education in June 2008 representing Precinct 1. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Weber State College. He is self-employed as a certified public accountant.
He has served on the Community Councils for Hillcrest High and Union Middle Schools. Mr. Millerberg is active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Scout Master eight years and is currently the committee chair. He is also the recipient of the District Award of Merit. He is a member of the Salt Lake Assistance League Advisory Council, past treasurer of the Hillcrest Union Babe Ruth Baseball and a former member of the Utah National Guard.
He enjoys golfing, cycling, skiing, hiking, travel and shooting sports. He and his wife, Kristine, are the parents of five sons and one daughter, and have six grandchildren.

Kim Murphy Horiuchi was elected to the Jordan Board of Education in 2007 in Precinct 3. She currently serves on the New School District Board of Education representing Precinct 2. Mrs. Horiuchi graduated cum laude from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications in 1993. She currently works for The Deseret Morning News as a wire editor.
Mrs. Horiuchi is an active PTA member and volunteer. She served on the School Community Council at Mountview and Ridgecrest Elementary Schools. In 2005, she was the Red Ribbon Week chairperson for Ridgecrest Elementary. She is currently a community chair for Utah Small Districts Coalition. Her civic involvement includes working as a co-chair of children’s activities/parade for Cottonwood Heights City's annual Butlerville Days celebration and serving as a Night Out Against Crime volunteer.
She and her husband, Vince, are the parents of two children.

Kevin Craig Cromar was elected to the New School District Board of Education in June 2008 representing Precinct 3. He earned a bachelor of arts degree and master’s of business administration, both from Brigham Young University. He has worked in the computer industry for the past 30 years, working for Sperry, Unisys, Oracle Corporation and Fidelity Investments. For four years he was involved teaching project management as a professor at the top three universities in mainland China in Beijing and Shanghai (Chinese Academy of Sciences Graduate Studies, Tsinghua University, and Central University of Finance and Economics).
Mr. Cromar has served on the Public Education Appropriations Committee in the Utah House of Representative and served as a member of the Utah State Legislature from 1982-86. In 1984 he was named to the Utah Education Association’s Honor Roll as a non-educator making significant contributions to education in Utah. He is a retired military chief warrant officer (CW3), and served 20 years with the Utah Army National Guard 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion as a Chinese linguist. He currently chairs the historical committee for the city of Cottonwood Heights.
He and his wife, Cathy, are the parents of five children, and have five grandchildren. Cathy has been an elementary teacher in Jordan School District for 22 years.

Tracy Scott Cowdell was elected to the Jordan Board of Education in 2007 in Precinct 6. He currently serves on the New School District Board of Education representing Precinct 4 and serves as President of the Board. Mr. Cowdell has lived in the Jordan School District for over 36 years; his family roots in the District are six generations deep. After graduating from Jordan High School in 1989, Mr. Cowdell went on to earn degrees in political science and sociology at the University of Utah, graduating summa cum laude (top one percent). He then obtained a law degree at Brigham Young University. Currently, Mr. Cowdell practices in the areas of governmental regulatory law, litigation, negotiation, and corporate law.
As a volunteer, Mr. Cowdell serves on Sandy City’s Board of Adjustments, is the past Chair of Sandy Elementary School Community Council, and acts as Assistant Coordinator of the Historic Sandy Neighborhood Watch. He has also served as a member of Sandy City's CDBG Committee and as the Institutional Head of Boy Scouts of America Troop 1231.
Mr. Cowdell is married to Rebekah Christensen-Cowdell; they are the parents of three daughters.

Mrs. Wallace was elected to the Jordan Board of Education in 1995 and is serving her fourth term, representing Precinct 2. She currently serves on the New School District Board of Education representing Precinct 5.
She has served as president and vice president of the Board on several occasions. She has served many public education committees, including the Utah School Boards Association, Educator Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), the Redevelopment Agency (RDA), the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA). She has been active in PTA and currently volunteers at Alta View Hospital.
Mrs. Wallace has attended both the University of Utah and the Salt Lake Community College and is currently a real estate agent with Rocky Mountain Realty. She and her husband, Clark K., are the parents of four children, and have seven grandchildren.

Sherril H. Taylor was elected to the Jordan Board of Education in 2005 in Precinct 4. He currently serves on the New School District Board of Education representing Precinct 6 and serves as Board Vice President.
Mr. Taylor holds a bachelor of science degree from Utah State University, a master's of education from Westminster College, and an Administrative Certification from the University of Utah. He also currently holds a Professional Educators License for the State of Utah.
A retired educator of 33 years, Mr. Taylor has served as a classroom teacher, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and staff assistant in the Jordan District Central Office. He is an associate with the Center for the Improvement of Teacher Education and Schooling (CITES) and has served on numerous Jordan District committees. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the Utah High School Activities Association. Mr. Taylor has served as a youth leader and camp director for the United States Forest Service.
He as his wife, Patricia, have two children and six grandchildren.

Paul J. McCarty was elected to the New School District Board of Education in June 2008 representing Precinct 7. He has a doctor of education in educational psychology and a master of education in counseling psychology, both from Brigham Young University (BYU). He earned his bachelor of arts in history and political science from the University of California at Berkeley. He has completed postdoctoral studies in public education administration at Utah State University and postgraduate teaching education studies at St. Mary’s College. Mr. McCarty is an administrator at Granite School District and an adjunct professor of psychology and marriage family human development at BYU.
Some of his public education service includes: member of the U.S. Congressional Reform and Reauthorization Committee for No Child Left Behind Legislation; member former principal and counselor in Granite School District; and a teacher in San Ramon School District in California. Some honors include: Jon and Karen Huntsman Award for Excellence in Education; Utah Public School Administrator and Principal Recognition; Utah Transit Authority Outstanding Service Award; U.S. Air Force Distinguished Civic Leader Award; Distinguished Principal Award of Utah; and Innovator of the Year by Utah Association of Elementary School Principals. His public and community service includes serving as a volunteer with his wife at the Utah State Prison Promontory Correctional Facility, vice president of the Utah Transit Authority Board of Directors responsible for Light Rail (TRAX), and former Draper City Councilman.
He and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of three children and have three grandchildren.
